Hello everyone, Almost everything has been finalised in my story. Only the info about the creators (Author and illustrator) is missing and I need to have a professional picture taken of me and my daughter, Evita (the illustrator), but I won't have the pic until mid November :(. Re the font type - I used Arial. Should I change to Times New Roman? I hope you can find a few minutes to write a comment on this almost-final draft of my story. I have a question: as you know Evita has done the illustrations, but the background was a bit greyish. I asked a graphic designer friend of mine to whiten the background for me and to do a few minor tweaks. I would like to ask her in the future to help me with the next books in the series, too. I like giving credit where the credit is due - where could I mention Stella's name? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1i1oWSFC_8YNVQq0o9OyIj0wYQMGjDlh1

ReplyDeleteHi Taghrid! Nice to 'see' you again! I'm intrigued about the possibilities of using ebooks at a place like YALI. Something to discuss this month, for sure.
ReplyDeleteHi Dorothy Zemach
ReplyDeleteI am very happy to join your course, it is a very good chance for me to know how to publish a book. Yes, actually we need to knowt the possibility of using e books at Yali. I am excited to know more about it. Thank you for giving me this chance.
Nice meeting you Taghrid Abu Sneida! It will be very interesting for me to learn from you about the challenges of teaching English in a different culture. I've always been fascinated by multiculturalism. Enjoy the course!
ReplyDeleteHi Elena, it is my pleasure and honor to meet you and all ELT teachers and educators around the world. Yes, you are right . There are some challenges we face about teaching English in Yemen due to the active war, fortunately we do our best to keep working and motivating our students to learn and improve their skills in English language. Similar to you, I am also fascinated by different culture and I really llove to visit Greece one day. Have a great time in this course and in your new academic year in your school.
ReplyDeleteTaghrid, thank you for your kind words! I admire your strength and determination to be teaching in such circumstances! I hope the insanity of war to stop soon and peace be the only norm. I believe only through education we can make it happen, by breathing awareness to people, teaching them to think with an open mind without borders and limitations. It'd be nice us to meet in Greece one day!!! ☺
ReplyDeleteYes Elena, I always believe in education, it is the strongest weapon to change the society as Nilson Mandela said.
ReplyDeleteHi Taghrid, Lovely to “see” you again!
ReplyDeleteHi Kate. It is amazing to join the course with you and with other educators around the world.
