Hello Dorothy and Barbara, I had a few questions as I go back to work on adding my ebook and re-design my cover. First, how do we give credit & copyright permission for images we add to our cover and pages in our ebook? Also, how do we give credit for the research that our ebooks are based upon? The formatting guide said no footnotes were possible.
Thank you for your time!

That kind of credit would go on the copyright page--there's an example in the slides that's kind of small, so I posted a larger image in the Discussion area. You could just add a line like
ReplyDeleteCover design by X. Cover image by Y.
Interior illustrations by Z.
For references, you can either do a separate page of references as backmatter (I think there's an example in the slides of that too), or do in-text references (X and Y, 1997). Footnotes in the traditional sense don't work because there isn't any way to keep them on the same page as what you're referencing.
Hope this helps!
Hi Dorothy, is it okay if we copy the copyright permission word for word into our own ebook?
ReplyDeleteDebbie Kellermann You sure can!
