HOMEWORK #1

HOMEWORK #1
Hi everyone! This is Alessandra from Italy.
-Who would use my material?
Esl and Efl eachers and students living primarily in Italy, possibly in Europe.
-Why? What would they gain from it?
Teachers will have ready to use material for their classes and students would have engaging material to work on
-What are they currently using?
They are using Textbooks and online material.
-Why do I think my material is good?
Because it is designed around their practical needs and interests.

HOMEWORK #2
What will the final product look like?
I still do not have a clear idea, I am here to find out.
-How much have I already written?
I have written different lessons on different topics but I wanted to start something new.
-How much left?
I would like to start a new project, therefore it has to be written . Was I supposed to start this course with something already done?
-When do I plan to write?
I do not have a set time and day. I usually write when ideas come to my mind. When I like what I do, I usually work on it until it is done and finished.

  1. Some people had material already written (not as homework, just from their lives), others are starting from scratch.

Before you begin writing, though, I need to know what sort of material you are considering, so I can tell if it will be possible or not.

  2. Miss Alex You could consider using some of the material you created for Katherine's course, and adapt it for specifically for Italian teachers. That would give you several lesson ideas you could use to create an ebook of lesson ideas, or a teaching guide for the lessons you've already created, for Italian teachers -- and mostly so you could have something that would enable you to focus on learning how to use the tools for creating an ebook. There's a bit of a learning curve in figuring how how to format material for e-publishing, and good if you can focus on that, I think.

  3. Barbara Hoskins Sakamoto thank you so much. That could be a great idea because since the school started.. I have had zero time for training and for coming up with new ideas. but.. I would love to create something new because it's always been in my mind to create my own ebook for the specific grammar that I am teaching my students... I just... don't wanna rush and do something for the sole purpose of finishing this class in time. I don't like being behind but I feel frustrated because I know I am now...:-(

  4. Miss Alex Basically, you are going to run into problems when you start trying to format for an ebook. Everyone does the first time. Dorothy can only help if you post something. So, totally aside from finishing the course, I'd suggest working with one of your lessons so that you can try out the tools, and get help while we have an excellent instructor to answer the technical questions. Then, down the road, when you have time to write, you will know how to format. And you can probably get feedback from this group even after the course ends. People are pretty wonderful that way. But, Dorothy is here to help this month, so I'd take advantage of her expertise. You can also try making a cover for the book you intend to write -- that doensn't take as much time :)

  5. Miss Alex You can bite off a smaller chunk. Just do one chapter, or the introduction to a longer book. The process you learn you can then apply to the rest of the book later.
