Homework 2

Hi all. Just wanted to share my work in progress and a first shot at an ePub:

The link for the content is here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kNZf0vGBqxKHHGONQ3lz3KBb9v3U3KmwZUnMFZaOpJg/edit?usp=sharing

two potential covers:

1)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17xo9e-dX_oox4QOSWRJ5SiTS0eKXfZAW/view?usp=sharing

2)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qPEdNWMwKoLMS1R6B4fc3dzDuF6QvN3g/view?usp=sharing

And the link for the pub document with a first stab at a cover is here

The epub file needs to be downloaded and opened in an e-reader program to be read. Thanks for your feedback in advance

Comments

  1. Thanks! Can you set the permissions for the doc so that people can comment? At the moment it's view only.

  2. Nice cover. I definitely have suggestions, though... can you post just the cover as a separate post?

  3. Dorothy Zemach I'll post it after class. Looking forward to the comments.

  4. It’s set for comments now.
First off, good for you for getting the book going! I really enjoyed parts of the stories (haven’t read it all, admittedly) and I love how your introduction is so personalised. The theory comes across as so much less rigid that way.

  5. Hi Kevin,

This is a very interesting topic and reading method presented in your ebook and is also very related to my own topic. I agree with Katie that congratulations are in order for actually publishing the first draft of your ebook. Because of these reasons, I was very interested in reading your ebook. I have not finished reading the entire book yet; however, I noticed a couple of things which are just a repeat of things that Dorothy said to us in our 3rd classroom session. First, your chapter titles are much larger sized than the 18 sized font that Dorothy recommended. Additionally, you have large blocks of text which need to be broken up by using more paragraph breaks, subtitles, picture or photos, and some words colored font. I am revising my own ebook text to include all those suggestions from Dorothy.
I hope to have my first draft published by Saturday. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions about my ebook.

  6. Kevin - how did you get it into an ePub? What did you use?

  7. Kate Cory-Wright I use a Mac and Pages software. There is a "save as epub" option. So after formatting it, I saved it as an epub.

  8. Debbie Kellermann Let us know you get on.
Kevin Stein Please keep in touch from here on and let us know your progress. I so appreciate how you’ve told us what you’ve tried and what worked / didn’t work!

Hi all! I'm happy to report that my health is much improved. Thank goodness! Ain't nobody got time for being ill.

It´s me again! I got enthusiastic and did almost the whole book. There are two or three pictures missing.
